More Friends, live in beta today, pulls your atproto mutuals from Bluesky, Blacksky, Mu Social, and across the Atmosphere and brings them into Germ for DMing. No more scrolling your feeds and clicking through profiles hoping someone has the Germ button. More Friends shows you who you can start chatting with, now.

For new users, it’s faster than ever to send your first DM. Log in with your atproto handle and you'll see the list of mutuals you can message immediately. Our cold start problem? Officially hot.

As always, your conversations are end-to-end encrypted with no visibility to service operators, including us. This is the private network you build just for you, underneath what happens on the feed.

How to use it: New users will see More Friends as soon as they open the app. Once you send your first DM, find More Friends by tapping the icon in the upper right corner of Friends. Say hi or clear them from the list with a single tap. As more of your crew joins, they'll show up here automatically.

More Friends draws on the permissions you set for your atproto card in Germ. Don’t want to be discovered? Select “Allow DMs from: Nobody” to reserve the right to send the first message.

More Friends is live today for beta testers in our TestFlight and will be rolling out to the App Store soon. Try it out, find us wherever we hang, and let us know what you think. See you in there!
